A Family Legacy: Dodson Pest Control’s 80-Year Commitment to Service

Eighty years ago, on August 20, 1944, in Lynchburg, Virginia, Bert Dodson, Sr. and his brother Robert set out with a simple mission: to help his neighbors live pest-free. Armed with determination and a toolbox, he founded a modest pest control service with a big dream. He toiled day and night, building a reputation for excellence and reliability, one satisfied customer at a time. Through his passion and hard work, the company expanded its services, pioneering innovative pest control solutions and delivering personalized customer care that quickly became its hallmark. Mr. Dodson’s unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction laid the foundation for the thriving enterprise we celebrate today.

Fast forward to the present, and that small operation has grown into a company with 38 offices serving customers in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, and the District of Columbia–Maryland metropolitan area! The legacy of Bert Dodson, Sr. endures, built on the principles of honesty and an unshakable commitment to customer service.

In the summer of 2024, to mark this monumental milestone, team members from all of the Dodson Pest Control offices celebrated at three fantastic locations: Massanutten Resort in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, Kings Dominion near Richmond, Virginia, and Carowinds near Charlotte, North Carolina. It is our way of saying a heartfelt thank you to the incredible team that makes everything possible.
